Traveling 101

The need to see the world was never really on my list as a kid. Then there was a time when all i wanted was to fill my passport before it expired. But after a couple of trips, i realized that the idea of experiencing different cultures, and witnessing the different lifestyles and weathers the world had to offer... kept me hooked to traveling.

Now, being the seasoned traveler that i am... id like to suggest first what to being when traveling to foreign lands. Besides the proper documents... a very reliable money belt bag and camera will always come next. Then there's the need to bring your own medicines, just in case. Apart from all of these... cellphones and maps will also definitely help.

Now that you're set to go... here's a couple of stuff that i would like to suggest to every new traveller...

1. Bring photocopies of your passports. Keep them close to you at all times.

2. Bring a cellphone with you for emergency purposes.

3. Learn the important number of the country you're going to. Example would be the police stations, or the emergency hot lines.

4. Now the fun part begins... bringing an extra pair of underwear and socks might also come in handy.

5. Maps will always help you... but a goos sense of direction or compass is still necessary

6. Know the language... important words: food, hungry, police, embassy.

7. Finally, always tell someone about your plans. At least make sure someone will look for you when you're gone.
